Homemade drawing tools

At the beginning of the second week, we were asked to collect a range of objects and to construct our own drawing materials, only using what we had found. This included sponge, wire, fabrics tape, wicker, leaves, branches, litter and anything you were carrying could be used. The possibilities were limitless in the way they could be stuck and bound into hand held utensils.
The tools we had made could then be experimented with in mark making to produce a variety of lines and patterns in ink. By the end of this session, there were lots of different line styles which were as, and if not more, effective than using standard pens and paintbrushes. Drawings could be produced using only the tools that had been made, giving very effective results.
